On 24 Yay, 1957, we shall close the doors on part of C1ermont's outstanling elucational nlstcry which began in the l85O's, and open the doors on a new and trereniously promising educational experience. Through the portals of Clermont Hlgh School have passed hundreds of students, many of whom have distinguished themselves as students and as leaders in many walks of life. Yhlieve in Christ':.e.s , 'Christmas for Others', 'lhe Bmree Bears 'Rip 'wan 1nkle', Pan American Fest1val , and Minstrel Show' were given at sev eral showboat ports. On the seven ,h and Glghfih stop we docked at Clement High and enjoyed high school Jri no es During the eighth stop we presented 'sleepim Beauty of Lore land' and al terwards received our dlplanas, Those who set Pull sail ahead for Clement L ,11 were Shirley Ames, Cathryn Crowe, Patricia Gass,Gary Gilson, Rowland Hacknann, borotny HelLerson, Helen Henderson mary Jean Kamp, Arlene Knudsen Gerene Larson Janice Larson, Robert Larson, Ronald Lyngaas, Jo Ann Loore, Care ' ott, Jud 1 nelson Robert Nelson, Pauline Nygaard, Elliott Olson Grace Olson, Rebecca Olson, Shirley Peterson, La Verne Swenson, Barbara 'Ih1es, Charles Wagner, Aloert Wedo, and Annette Wenger. At the next harbor we became members of the crew with Canmodore Moore as our naviuator. We were accepted at a 'christening ceremony' known as initiation with a story book theme. While at sea the next four years, cruises were made to numer- ous contests, tournaments, and festivals Our crew presented 'Little Men' and 'The Closed Door' as sophanore plays me following year 'The Little Minister' was given. At various phases of the journey, the gangplank was lowered to admit Harley hvenson, Charles Kohls, and Gloriann Schweinefus, while other crew members trans ferred ships, William Loyle rejoined our crew. During the junior voyage we sponsored the Junior Senior Banquet, 'Rhapsody in Blue'. A Prom given by the American Legion Auxiliary followed The Senior journey has been an especially busy and eventful one. 'Quit Your K1dd1ng , a comedy, was our last play. Time flits onward and as we approach the end of our voyage, the Junior sailors present us with an elaborate banquet, As we neared our last harbor Class Night and a Baccalaureate Service were held with Rev. S.a1ley Knudsen giving the address. Finally our voyage was con- cluded with Ccnmencsment Exercises. Following graduation, an excursion into Chi- cage was thoroughly enjoyed, As we separated sane boarded the ships of hi er due ti whil the found labor in L1revS Harbor. gh 6 3 cm' 6 0 rs We, the class of '57, would like to say 'Bon Voyage' to the Clement Ship of Education, 'Thank You' to our teachers, and to Supt.
