We, the Senior Class of 1963, have long awaited the time when we could be called Seniors. As our final year at Clement comes to an end, we would like to thank each of the teachers for directing us in the right way through school, and, to our parents, we extend our deepest appreciation for all the help and understanding they have given to us these twelve years. Our journey began in the fall of 1951 when fifty -six y o un g , frightened, inexperienced, sn a 9 gl e -toothed children, not knowing what to expect, entered the doors at the front of this building. At this point Mrs. Avis Jackson and Miss Gladys Turner assumed the task of getting us off on the right foot, and before long, our first year was over. Slowly the years passed, and soon we were in the seventh grade. That year under the direction of Mr. Graham Jackson and Mrs. Marjorie Warren we went on a very educational sightseeing tour to Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh. At the end of our eighth year, we were very proud to Class Histor receive certificates of promotion to high school. Ln the fall of 1959 we entered high school and elected as our class officers Larry West, Presidentg Lynn Tew, Vice-Presidentg Dixie F a nn, Secreuaryg and R o e na Faircloth, Treasurer. Our freshman year ended with a party at White Lake. ..,,,, -,
