J! !6W2'0!if - Our little friend the YELLOW JACKET is quite a popular fellow. Not only is he a favorite to the students and faculty of Cleburne High School, but he also is very well-known to the community of Cleburne. Most people do not realize the many things our YELLOW JACKET stands for. Just as each student represents Cleburne High, the YELLOW JACKET, with his colorful black and gold body, is a symbol of our school and the many things associated with it. During the fall term, we saw the YELLOW JACKET fighting for the black and gold on the football field. Fearlessly and fairly he gained honor and recognition for our school and community. He brought a title to Cleburne High that showed just how hard he did fight--- State AAA Co-Champs, 1959. The many supporters of our little friend surely had some of his spirit as they traveled to the ends of Texas to see him perform. The YELLOW JACKET represents these people and the interest they have in Cleburne High. Basketball, baseball, and track also have the YELLOW JACKET as their symbol. He has a big load to carry but does it brilliantly in all fields. As we recall the things the YELLOW JACKET symbolizes, we cannot forget our friends who have loyally supported him, as exemplified by Miss Allene Gray, Mr. Brooks Conover, and others who will remain a part of the spirit of the YELLOW JACKET. So now we have a clear picture of our smiling friend. Because we feelhe is truly deserving, as an honorable representative and symbol of Cleburne High School, we dedicate the 1960 Santa Fe Trail to THE SPIRIT OF THE YELLOW JACKET

The surest formula for such a life seems to be found in service to others--the service given should always exceed the pay received. 6 wise
