Mrs. Nova Hilliard is the secretary to the Su- perintendent. She has served most efficiently for the past two years. Miss Patsy Darling, a 1956 graduate of Cleburne High School, is the book- keeper. as laser fr- X SUPERINTENDENTS UFFIC The Cleburne Public School system is very fortunate this year in having as its Superintendent, Mr. Earnest Guinn. Mr. Guinn is not a newcomer to the system. He served eight years as Principal ofCle- burne High School. Before that he was a Housemaster for two years, and served 16 years before that as a coach. The re- spect and admiration he has won from all the students is well deserved. Mr. Guinn received his B.A. Degree from Centenary, and his M.A. De g r e e in Administration from the University of Texas. This year for the first time,Cleburne is very privileged in having an Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Glendon Broumley is filling this office most efficiently. He is in charge of purchasing and transportation for the entire system. Mr. Broumley has had previous experience in administrative work as Principal of LN. Long Elementary School. He has a B.S. Degree and a M.S. There are few students around Cleburne H1011 School who are not acquainted with Miss Bobsie Ferguson our Guidance Counselor Miss Fer guson has charge of activities involving both the students and teachers She has primary respon sibility for administering and interpreting tests to both teachers and students She counsels stu dents who come to her voluntarily with person ality problems and those that are referred to her She is responsible for social and emotional guidance too Miss Ferguson is well equipped for guiding and counseling the students since she has an A B A and M A Degree from Peabody College 1n Nashville Tennessee SPECIAL SERVICE A well known fwure around our school 1sMr I W Patterson D1reC tor of Instruction Mr Patterso supervises the General Instructional Program ISCO ordinator of Audio v1sualEducat1on and is in charge o Text Books and the ln Service Trainino Program Mr Patterson holds a B A Devree from Howard Payne College and a M E Degree from North Texas State College Always there when the need arises is Mrs. Alice Rodman,our Health Nurse. Mrs. Rodman serves the students in many ways. She sets up adequate health records,counsels with students on health problems, and participates with the school administration in planning, conducting, and evaluating the school health program. Mrs. Rodman received her R.N. Degree from Laird Memorial Hospital, School of Nursing, in Mont- gomery, West Virginia. This year the Annual Staff would like to honor Mrs. Ruth P. Archer, who is retiring after forty years of faithful service in the teaching profession. The students of C.H,S., as well as the faculty, will truly miss her, Mrs. Archer received her B.A. Degree at Southwestern College, her L.B. Degree at Kidd Key College in Sherman, and has also done special work in journalism. She began her teaching career in the year 1915- 1916, at Corpus Christi. Following that she taught history two years in the high school at San Benito, and then began teaching at C.H.S, in 1920-21. Although English is her major field, Mrs. Archer has also taught speecrrnndjournalism. After the Yapper had been discontinued for several years, Mrs. Archer revived it and served as its popular sponsor for seventeen years. She was personally responsible for C.H,S. having its first electrically operated rnimeograph machine. As for her plans for retirement, Mrs. Archer says, I'm going to havezfun and relax. We think she deserves it, and would like to extend our thanks to you, Mrs. Archer, for your faithful service here in C.H.S. and in the teaching profession. POPULAR FACULTY MEMBER RETIRING . . 1 i 'no PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE Mr. Carl Huddleston, serving his firstyear as Principal of Cleburne High School, received his B.S. and M.A. Degrees from Southwestern University at Georgetown, Texas. In the past he has filled the position of Assistant Princi- pal with skill, was one ofCleburne High School's favorite teachers, and for several years was Housemaster of Wilson House. His friendly personality and sense of humor make him a friend of everyone. Mr. Cecil Harper, Assistant Principal, received his B.S.Degree from Mississippi Southern College, and his M.S. Degree from Mississippi State. In ad- dion to holding this position for the first time, Mr. Harper is Hou s e m a s te r of Edison House, and teaches three commercial classes. The polite and friendly manner which he possesses makes him a popular C.H.S. personality. The Secretary of the Prin- cipal is Gene Ann Wheeler. She performs her j obs effi- ciently, and keeps her friendly smile throughout.
