Most of us think of it as marching feet and blaring marches at football games and assembly programs. But the activities of the band far exceed this. Aside from marching in at least one parade a year, and often more, and playing for the Rodeo, the band attends various clinics and contests. One or more public concerts are presented yearly in addition to assembly programs for C. H. S. students. This isn't the whole story, however. During football season the members tramp up and down Rhone Field, rain or shine, in preparation for the coming game. The twirlers, certainly an attractive addition to the bass horns and trombones, are also at work preparing their part of the half-time activities. After football season the band doem't just loaf around Lmtil school is out -- on the contrary, it then begins in eamest to practice concert music, which is a drastic change from the previously played march m us i c . The band rehearses and corrects mistakes until the time comes for the public to hear the re- sults, and the results have been wonderful. 2 I I 'XIII' DIRECTOR Mr. Herman Gauthier .D , U ,..2'5C fi as fl R r , N DRUM MAJOR Nelda McPherson Cumzwg FU warm-if-3r1'1 Z :b LJ O so rf: '-1 +-1 m U1 or 1 X x f r .
