Since the days and events have slipped from your rnind, we have presented them as a review for you to have throughout the years to come. An Indian theme has been used to accentuate the highlights of the year. May we express our appreciation of the courtesy and cooperation which we have received from the faculty, students and administration in gathering this material and in making the pictures. We have thoroughly enjoyed bringing you this 1952- 1953 edition of the S anta Fe Trail. We hope you like it and receive much pleasure from it. Both present and future students of Cleburne are greatly indebted to him for this much needed accomplishment. Although Mr. Murphy is forced to spend much of his time in business matters he is always willing to give a few minutes to anyone who calls on him. His pleasant pe r s onality and quiet manner are outstanding characteristics of his fine character. Mr. Huddleston, Associate Prin- cipal of C.H.S., is filling the posit- ion with skill. He is also master of Wilson House, therefore looking af- ter about 130 boys. Another of his jobs is teaching physics and biology. Nevertheless, he still has time for a sense of humor and a friendly greet- ing with everything he does. Con- gratulations to this deserving person. Mr. Guinn, C.H.S.'S most able Principal, is probably on e of th e busiest people in s c ho ol. He has all the excuses to sign and permits to give , in addition to looking after 900 students. Regardless of all his work, Mr. Guinn is always willing to help and do what he can for each student. His tireless efforts to fit each of the stud ent 's individual needs is a characteristic in line for compliment. This amiable man is truly a friend to all. Mr. Huddleston, or better known to most students as Doc , is one of the favorite figures around C.H.S. He is a friend to everyone. His pleasant smile and ready greeting are noticed by all. Among his characteristics is 21 sense of humor and a stream of never ending delightful comments. This year for the first time Mr.Hudd1eston serves in a newposition in Cle- burne High School, that of Assistant Principal. He also has his previous job as Master of Wilson House. To a swell all-around person we proudlydedicate the 1952- 1953 edition of the Santa Fe Trail. TRIBAL X if 7 ,, , , g?fV r if - ,fi '77f Ng f 7, Mk n,f , , A , . , J I ' Y P' '. This obvious goalis to collect, assemble, and present pictures and write-ups in a way in which you will enjoy. To accomplish such an aim we have needed to call on the abilities of other C.H.S. students. To Betty Carper for her photography, and Lonnie Holliday forthe sport write-ups, we give sincere thanks. The Staff meets every day the 6th period to work and make plans. Also, considerable time is spent outside of the regular office work: for example contacting sw e e the a rt s and making arrangements for club pictures. A few members of the Annual Staff attended an Annual Clinic in the fall at Austin. This has benefited the staff in numerous ways.
