Salutatorian Is Melissa McWhorter Melissa McWHorter has earned the honor of Salutatorian of the 1981 graduating class for having an academic average of 92.94 in accelerated level classes in grades ten, eleven, and twelve. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McWhorter of Fruithurst. Melissa is a member of the Beta Club and has served as president during her Senior year. She is a member of the Science Club and Co-editor of the Annual Staff. She was elected Homecoming Sponsor during her Senior year and Most Likely to Succeed in the Senior Who's Who. 19

Valedictorian Is Gary Genge Gary Genge Gary Genge has earned the honor of Valedictorian of the 1981 graduating class for having an aca- demic average of 96.73 in accelerated level classes in grades ten. eleven and twelve. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Graydon Genge of Heflin. Gary was president of his class during both his Junior and Senior years. He was elected Most Depend- able in the Sophomore and Junior Who's Who and Most Likely to Succeed in the Senior Who’s Who. Gary is a member and president of the Science Club, Vice President of the Beta Club, a member of the Student Council and Co-Editor of the Annual Staff. He is a member of the Cleburne County High School Band and Stage Band. He is Section Leader for the Saxophone Section. Gary also earned the Scholarship Award for having the highest academic average in his class for grades seven, eight and nine. is
