Paul And Cindy Voted Top Seniors Paul Gelep and Cindy Rice were elected Mr. and Miss CHS by the student body on the basis of outstanding contributions to all areas of student life. Mr. and Miss CHS were nominated by over thirty clubs, an innova- tion which gave a voice in nominations to a larger segment of the school. Usherette co-captain in her junior year, Cindy has also been active in AFS and French Club. She was an offi- cer of the YWCA Service Club throughout high school and was chosen 1972 Sweetheart Queen at the annual Y dance. Cindy has been an active member of her church and its youth group. Paul was Student Council president, and served on the Clearlight Editorial Board and the County Student’s Rights and Responsibilities committee. He was bas- ketball co-captain in his sophomore year, played foot- ball and baseball for three years, and was selected Most Valuable Player by the baseball team. A member of Key Club, C Club, and Inter-Club Council, Paul re- ceived numerous honors including Citizen of the Month, the Elk’s Youth Leadership Scholarship, and nomination to the Society of Outstanding American High School Students.
