As in the other classifica- tions, these students complete the high school gradu- ation requirements while working one-half day. distributive education The Distributive Education cooperative program al- lows Juniors and Seniors to work in positions involv- ing selling merchandise or service. In addition to learning the methods of thought organization, the student also learns to speak more effectively and proficiently. A first and second year Speech are offered to all students, but Debate is for selected students only. Among the students 7 activities are National Forensic League Congresses, and weekend Debates held throughout the area. Other competitive facets of the subject include extem- poraneous speaking, original oratory, and dramatic interpretation. drivers’ education Teaching the vital responsibilities encountered in the operation of an automobile is the principal purpose of the Drivers 7 Education Department. Whether the stu- dent is frantically searching reference materials for an eleventh hour report or merely an enjoyable book with which to relax, he is certain to locate what he wants with the help of our very efficient library staff. The library is also the center of. audio-visual materials used by teachers to enrich classroom lessons. We are indeed fortunate to also have a very complete college section in the library. The Reading classes, instructed by Mrs. Krug, are of two types —College Reading for the students who wish to broaden their in- terest in the world of books, and Remedial Reading for the pur- pose of helping students better understand what they read.
