music department In charge of the Music Depart- ment ' s vocal section is Mr. Paul Butler. He is the very talented di- rector of the Mixed Chorus, the Madrigal Singers, an d Girls ' Glee Club, all of which perform fre- quently and admirably at school programs and c musical functions. FORREST SMITH, U. of Fla., B.A.E., B.F.A., M.Ed., Mech. Drawing, Art. Our Industrial Arts program includes General Woodworking, Arts and Crafts, and Mechanical Drawing. Woodworking students learn to design and construct products in wood. By use of academic activity in conjunction with laboratory work, projects are designed, their construction studied and the project produced. These tasks are accomplished by hand and machine processes. The Arts and Crafts course aims primarily to develop basic under- takings and skills through working with ceramics, leather, copper enameling, copper tooling, and other materials. It includes the de- velopment of an ability to use leisure time by filling it with self- satisfying work. Mechanical Drawing has been called the language of industry and engineers, architects, and designers use it to record their ideas. Mechanical Drawing teaches visual and constructive imagination •and the habit of exact thinking. industrial arts
