He is the very talented di- rector of the Mixed Chorus, the Madrigal Singers, an d Girls ' Glee Club, all of which perform fre- quently and admirably at school programs and c musical functions. Directing the instrumental sec- tion of the Music Department is Mr. Yanetovich and what a re- markable job he has done with the Crimson Tornado Band! His great efforts to place a first class band on the field culminated in last year ' s sensational victory in which the band won a first place rating on a national scale in Washington. Also under the direction of Mr. Yaneto- vich are the Clearwater High Con- cert Orchestra and the Tornado Ca- det Band. 23

Probably because of the Latin-American influence in this area, Spanish is the most popu- lar alien language offered. By the time a student has completed his four years of Spanish he is usually able to converse fluently and understand this language well. At Clearwater High three popular foreign languages are offered. Those students with a flare for Greek and Roman mythology are extended four years of Latin, the basis for all other Romance lan- guages. MARJORIE KANN, McKendree College, So. III. A recent addition to the Language Department is French which has been warmly and enthusiastically received here at C.H.S.
