CLEARWATER HIGH SCHOOL CLEARWATER, FLORIDA As night falls upon the halls of C.H.S., we take time out from our busy schedules to evaluate all of the mad, frantic, wonderful, and inspiring events that have helped to make this year the best one ever! In this, the 1961 Aqua Clara, we will always be reminded of the hand of friendship that we have extended — not only to those near to us but also to those from far acress the sea. In our own individual way, each one of us has contributed towards making our school what it is today. In the future, if the obstacles that usually hamper the road to success can be dimmed for the briefest moments by the memories in this book, then it will have served its purpose. For most of us, this is just one of three great years. But, for those of us who are fortunate enough to have earned the title SENIOR, this year has a deeper meaning; for this is our special year — the end and the beginning. And so, we leave in your hands— to care for and to love — our Alma Mater, Clearwater High School. iHMimminiiiii |g Nancy Collman. Editor-in-chief ; ' isi ■up m m lie ill s3S ■

Dear Students : As you came this way, did you learn the Golden Keys of Opportunity? What is the secret of worthwhile achievement? There is no secret about it. It is the result of sincere and determined work, initiative, en- thusiasm, courage, and similar attributes. If you want knowledge, you must toil for it; if food, you must toil for it; if property, you must toil for it. TOIL IS THE LAW OF LIFE. Work as faithfully as those who have been accorded successful in their various walks of life. History makes it evident that these notables among mankind owed far more to INDUSTRY for their success than to their respective genius. If not before, now so dedicate your life to work for a great future in the ever-present frontiers which are before us. Capacity never lacks opportunity. It can not remain undiscovered because it is sought by so many eager to use it. In your quest of worthwhile achievement, may you have the spirit manifested by President George Washington in this statement: “I hope I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most valuable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” Robert Glenn, Principal
