Our past, as it effects us today, and how we are to live in the future, is also taught. A degree in mathematics, lead- ing to engineering, nuclear phys- ics, teaching, and other related fields, starts early in one's school lite. Here in Clearwater High the students add to their knowledge of mathematics by taking such courses as plane and solid geom- etry, Algebra I, ll, and Ill, and trigonometry. In accelerated courses, Statis- tics, calculus, polar graphing, the history of mathematics, and glimp- ses of modern mathematics are explored. Basic mathematics provides an opportunity for students not partic- ularly interested in mathematics to gain further understanding.
