STUDE T COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BRANCH OF STUDENT GOVERNMENT FIRST ROW: Beverly Rippard, Montine Pennington, adviser, Mrs. Harman, Linda Fischer, Dede Flemings, Sheila Kennedy, Sandy Moore, Martha Drayer. SECOND ROW: Jimmy Clark, Westlake Goehring, Roger Ashley, Wally Niswander, George Fiske, Buz Lohrbauer, Eddie Tonry. One of the main factors ot our education is to learn government. What better way could teach us than to elect our own student govern- ment, the Student Council. We choose our leaders through votes cast by the student body in the Spring. This year our choice tor student government leaders was: Dede Flemings, President, Montine Penning- ton, Vice-President, Joan Golson, recording secretary, Beverly Rippard, corresponding secretary, and Linda Fischer, treasurer. The Student Council has many projects throughout the year. Among their activities this year are Orientation ot Sophomores, selling tootball pins, saying grace before lunch, leadership classes, all school elections, and the C.H.S. Carnival. This busy and ever-striving group is advised by Mrs. Harman. Page Twenty

A special attraction for you who are interested in character, leadership, scholarship, and service will be the Honor Society meeting in B-2 today. ' For those who sponsor safe driving, come to B-4 to the Safety Club meeting. Those who are interested in writing as a career, come to D-5 to Clearlight head- quarters. The athletic minded will find their friends in C-Club this afternoon. The test tube and beaker crowd will meet in D-8, the Science Club. A hobby club or a special interest group c some clubs meet at night, a large percentage of our school participates in extra- an be found for all students of C.H.S. Be- cause curricula activities. I TER CLUB COUNCIL HOMECOMING CUNDUCTED BY THE VEEPS FIRST ROW: Frances Grantham, Linda McMullen, Carol Singley, Sue Cottrell, Dede Lingo. Everyone loves a parade-especially Homecoming Parade This is where all the C.H.S. Veeps make their head- quarters. Well, at least they hold one meeting at the month there. The Vice-Presidents ot all Clearwater High's clubs are members ot the I.C.C. Their duty is to coordinate all club activities and projects so that conflicts will be at a minimum.
