Lct's Work together to build the best, For a high school is what you make it. v I Y 523.7 C016 'S N0 C5 As we go to press, March 4, 1968, we have learned that two of our teachers, Mrs. Marie Slater and Mr. Harold Hoelscher, are re- tiring from teaching. Our school appreciates their years of excellent service and wishes them well in their new activities. We hear, too, that one of our grade teachers, Mrs. Anna Turner, whom we also highly regard, is terminating her teaching career. We, the staff speak for ourselves and other former students in saying to them, Thank you for the encomagement, inspiration, and excellent teaching you have given us. We shall always be indebted to you. Editor ..... Assistant Editor . . Business Manager . . Advertising Manager Layout Editor . . . Copy Editor . . Photographers . . Advisor . . This can be accomplished through the development of a pride for the school and its functions. Wherever We go or whatever we may be doing, we should be able to select the positive aspecw of our school and our community, and emphasize these points to everyone within earshot. The Aiterglow for 1968 is certainly an instrument to which We can point with pride and serves as one of the forces which help to unite the student body of one of the best schools in the World. l5'0y4 KZ? 09 5271164 ZION LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. Leo Anschutz, Treasurerg Mr. Max Reser, Presidentg Mr. Harold Tjadeng Mrs. Alberta Rector, Clerkg Mr. Wayne Mclntyreg Mr. Dale E. As you leave us, and move on to a more adult World, we would hope that you would look upon us occasionally with a bit of nostalgia. Come in to visit us when you can, and remember, you have our best wishes in all of your future endeavors, -- Good Luck. james B. Charles, Principal future America. FUTURE CITIZEN. .i-ff ! . ,YZINJOIZ HIGH PKJNHJPAZ As our nation progresses in all areas we must remember that a child 's education affecm the majority of these changes. That which is learned by each child, each having a different interest, will make its mark on We, members of the teaching profession, try to reach each of these children and instill in his heart and mind that an education is important. Along with this he must understand that he is an important part of this community and therefore our country. At- tached to this 'mee were letters and notes from former Kayet- tes, Y-Teens, and Girls Re- serve. The span of years of these letters covered the entire teaching career of Miss Parker at Clearwater High School. , .I fre: Lflf' l. ' ll . 1, ef-2 if ' 1 Another highlight of the school year at C. H. S. was the Moments to Remember Nlother-Daughter Banquet which occurred April 28, 1967, in die high school gym. The meal was served.by the Champion Catering Service. Having this large group in the new gym and having a catering service were two firsts for the school. The consensus was that both were highly successful! A special feature of this social affair is always the moment when the retiring president presents the gavel to the new president--as is pictured on this page. A sur- prise feature on this night was the presentation to Miss Alice Parker by Sue McQuillan of a flower arrangement in an amber glass vase. It was a token of appreciation for her long service with the Kayette Club. Miss Naomi jo Scott succeeded Miss Parker as sponsor of die Kayettes, and Miss Parker, in turn, became a full-time librarian. The installation of officers concluded the evening's progyam. Sue McQuillan is shown pre- senting the gavel to jane Callaway, the incoming pres- ident. Pictured below are Sue McQuillan and Kris Noland. JR. - SR. BANQUET AND PROM The magic of prom night became a reality on April 22, 1967, when the jun- ior class fthis year's seniorsj presented Moonlight and Roses. This motif was carried out so very well in table and room decorations--some of which can be seen pictured on this page. Much hard work went into the preparation of this gala affair which was held at the Civic Playhouse in Wichita. The Board of Education, teachers, custodians, and Seniors were treated to a delicious meal consisting of such items as Rose Nectar and Moon Beams. This was followed by such gay entertainment as Roses of Rememberancen and Secrets of the Night. Then came the prom dance-- and the floor was constantly crowded by the students and other guests as they showed their enthusiasm and pleasure in the music of the Downbeats.
