Juniors As summer comes to an end, few Central students look forward to the opening of school. This year was differ- ent. lt was an exciting change for the Junior Class - a step up the ladder at C.C.C. I real- of C.C.C.'s ly felt like one elite, said John-Eric Conrey when expressing his feelings on becoming an upperclass- man. Being a junior brings new challenges, decisions, and added responsiblity to a stu- dent. Being the toughest year of high school, the junior year entails hours of devoted leam- ing, studying, and working. In the academic dimension of the junior year, there is an added pressure to succeed in attaining and maintaining su- perior grades. The threat of approaching college applica- tions hovers over the heads of many bright students who plan to further their education Timothy Bourdon Joseph Bouthillier Kerry Bowers Step Up. beyond the high school level. The working and playing as- pect of a third year at Central includes many extracurricular activities such as part time jobs, athletic teams, clubs and a full social calender. The freedom granted to stu- dents during theirjunior year increased with the purchase or attainment of a car. This new responsiblity gives ju- niors the feeling of indepen- dence, allowing them more liberty to contribute to their school and community. As a class, the juniors inher- it the prestigious responsiblity of organizing the Prom. This activity calls specific attention to the uniqueness of the class. Upperclassmen set exam- ples and give students on the lower levels models to ad- mire. The junior year truly sig- niiies the distinctiveness of the upperclassmen.
