Life's A Beach It's 980 and the tanning index is a 10 on a scale of 10. Get on those bath- ing suits and get on dovm to the beach, but be careful. Don't get too bumed now. The beach is one of the in places to go for Central students during the day, as well as at night. On the beach, we can meet friends and catch a tan. The Gulf of Mexico offers a quick re- fresher to beat the heat of Florida's sun. ln the water, students are known to surf, to body surf, or to just swim. Parasailing also offers an exciting al- temative to sizzling in the blazing sun. A variety of fashion and color is seen on the beach as well, ranging from one piece and two piece bathing suits for girls and long Bermuda shorts for guys. Central students frequently go to the beach at night to 'ihang out with friends. Overall, Florida's West Coast acts as a haven for students who want to go out and have a good time. . , .f Q . New Do Foaming bottles of mousse, gal- lons of hair spray, and endless hours positioned in front of the mir- ror, mark the daily ritual students perform to create that unique hair style atop their heads. A variety of trends have been seen from the football team's crew- cuts to thebasketball team's flat- tops. Not only did the sports teams originate new popular styles, but many students alone were daring and dazzling enough to shape their precious locks into notable fashion statements. The Top Gun look became favored among the guys, while most girls chose the bob style with a tight penn attached. The amount of money spent on hair products alone represents the pride that Centralites take in their appearance. Buying sculpturing gels every week gets expensive, says junior Tracey Sturm, who en- joys experimenting with modem wild 'idos . Yet there are others who naturally style their tresses such as Tracy Maulorico, who doesn't use any harsh styling tools. She simply blow dries her hair up- side dovm giving it height and full- ness. Another added expense, aside from her body boosters and protein builders, are the accenting accessories that twist, tie, clamp, and snap hair into place. Among the fashion clips are brightly col- ored bows and new banana clips that donate dimension to the ordi- nary ponytail. The many hours that are devoted by all students to the washing, dry- ing, curling, and styling of their hair are worth the effort to avoid being caught in a hairy situation. 225 53 if z

iVr00n1VrO0m!i What is the obsession with mobil- ity? If one were to ask any teenager this question, the majority of them would state that the individual gains a desired freedom. CCC students display a wide variety of ways to arrive in style. A quick glance through the student's parking lot captures visions of cars from near- ly every make, model, and price range that roll onto campus daily. Pictured are a sample of the most noteable wheels around. Senior Tim Slaughter's Dart has become a popular item. The story behind its popularity refers to him having to tow his car from the clutches of a ditch. Senior Stephanie Musumeci with her rare BMW and Senior Joe Medolla with his eccentric surf bug express their unique personalities through their cars. A super blast from the past explodes onto the grounds of Central as Junior Colleen McNulty steers in her 1958 Pontiac. This year's most fa- vored car according to many CCC drivers is the Ford Mustang. As a second home, the possession of a car allows teens to have indepen- dence and it further expresses individ- ual personalities.
