The Club, under the direction of A A President Delin Haedo and the moderator, Mrs. Carl- it son, sponsored two successful bake sales and orga- nized a car wash. A major highlight of their year includ- ed visiting Cafe Benito to indulge in Spanish cuisine. The annual Spanish Club - French Club picnic was planned as well. In addition, the Spanish Club worked in conjunction with the Spanish Honor Society on many projects, such as visiting Maria Manor at Christmas. Members donated a portion of their funds to the Span- ish Honor Society to help finance a trip to Orlando for a Spanish competition. They participated in bake sales and a car wash to raise money for SHS club activities. They also entertained the elderly when they went Christmas carrolling at Maria Manor Nursing Home. ln May, the 'Spanish Honor Society competed in the Florida State Spanish Conference. Fifteen members competed in Orlando May 1-2. A portion of the money that was used for the trip was donated by the Spanish Club, which worked closely with the Spanish Honor Society throughout the year.
