Anticipation and excitement filled the air as busloads of seniors from all over Florida and Georgia began their night of magic at Walt Disney World's 1987 Grad Nite. This all-night party blasted off at 11:00 P.M. on May 8 for six hours of non-stop fun. The Magic Kingdom took complimentary photos of each senior to create memories that will last forever. To rock the stu- dents through the night, D.J. Chris Hill played Top 40 hits. Popular pop artists Wang Chung, Glass Tiger, Ready For The World, Oran Juice Jones, Nancy Martinez, Bobby Brown, and Tabasco provided the live enter- tainment and hot tunes to dance to. Students had full access to all rides and took complete advantage of the thrills that awaited them upon Thun- der Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. A Night 0f A typical characteristic to visiting the Magic Kingdom is the mobs of people who come to escape reality for a while. Being no exception, record numbers of frenzied teens attended Grad Nite. t'Despite the overwhelming crowds, l feel Grad Nite should be ex- perienced by every senior, states Chnstina Curry. At the conclusion of a fulfilling eve- ning, 20,000 exhausted seniors slug- gishly forced themselves to reboard the buses that would serve as their beds until they arrived home. und

Honored bn- The Athletic Awards Banquet took place on May 22, 1987. Various awards were given in such catagories as l'Best Offensive Player , Best Defensive Player , l'Most Valuable Player , etc. ln boys soccer, which reached the District Champi- onship level, Steve Wolf received 'Best Defensive and 'lMost Valuable player and Tim Slaughter re- ceived Best Offensive player for the third year in a row. The girls basketball team was also District Champi- ons. Molly Malloy, who received the most letters for girls, was the Most Valuable player, Pam Black- welder - Best Defensive , and Kathleen Corkery - l'Most Improved . The boys basketball team reached the State Cham- pionship level. The l'Most Valuable player was Vic Stephens, 'lMost Rebounds - Dave Degitz, and 'Best Defensive players - Brian I-Ianis and Mike Malzahn. Mike also received the most letters for boys. S, ,.- -Q1
