FOOTBALL Clearview finished its initial varsity football season without a Senior class. Although the team was beaten soundly, they can chalk the year up as experience with all but two lettermen coming back next year. ln the final contest of the season, the Thanksgiving game against Sterling, the Pioneers led part way through the game. This was perhaps the best played game ofthe season, thus pointing out that the boys were improving and will be a real tough opponent next year. Heritage, G. Dark, J. Friel, D. McGee, Mr. Kollmeier - Ass't Mr. Stetson. This year marked the beginning of Varsity basketball at Clearview. It has been a little rough going for them but the team has worked hard and shows a very good chance for next year with the help of some of the Sophomores who have shown that they are in there fighting for many of the Varsity positions. A lot of work has been done by the three coaches, Mr. Stetson fvarsityl, Mr. Kollmeier U.V.l, and Mr. Kapczynski ffreshmenl. These three men have spent a lot of time trying to bring Clearview its first successful basketball team. Clearview, who is a member of the Olympic Conference, can be proud of its basketball team for playing real good basketball against the top teams in the Conference. At the printing of this article, the freshmen had won Q few games and Mr. Kollmeier's squad was lust barely edged out, so there is a good prospect for the future. The team has been handicapped by the lack of height and exper- ience. Next year we will have the experience and can look forward to a successful season from our basket- ball team.
