Senior officers President Joyce Schultz Secretary Kay Peavy Historian Jutta Hager Vice president Tom O Day Treasurer Anna Unch 99 Challenges await usp we proudly go forth We Seniors look back wlstfully and happily on our last year at CHS, under the guidance of Mr. Pritts our class counselor. Class officers were: presidenthjoyce Schultz, vice-president Tom O'Dayg secretary-Kay Peavy, treasurer Anna Unch, and historian-Jutta Hager First among the high spots of the year was the Washington Trip during Thanksgiving Vaca tion. What memories that brings back! Then in December came the all-school play, The Late Christopher Bean, which proved a great success Senicrs Jerry Koval, Sandra Howland, Sandra Brown, Jim Walther, Jim Shugarts, and Amos Hixon took part. With two new senior cheerleaders Barbara Ondo and Jerriann Jury, added to the squad the teams received very enthusiastic support. Football brought Guy Graham a place on the all- district team and the honcr of being All-Central County's quarterback. Both Tom O'Day and Ed Carns were on the district team and were award- ed honorable mention on the Central County Team. Tom also received honorable mention on the state team. In basketball Tom led District IX in scoring and was named to the all district team. Guy Graham, Anson Graham, Dave Schucker, Glenn Myers, and Dennis Boal were also on the team. Wrestling brought the regional and dis- trict championships to Ash Woolridge and district championship to John Kruse. Other senior wres- tlers were Art Weiss Jr Roland Woodring Mel vin Lingle and Martin Elbell Our track and golf teams both had good seasons In track Kenny Rishel was in state com petition and Bob Henry Amos Hixon and Ken Rishel earned letters and sweaters The girls golf team defeated and shut out all challengers Bill Tornatore and Giles Lanager went to State College as representatives of the boys golf team The Downbeat had many seniors among its cast as well as in the chorus District chorus and band also counted many C H S seniors as members Sue Sherkel went to state chorus On May 8 came the all-night prom Come to Hawaii with the seniors as guests. No need to ask whether that was fun! Two seniors Susan Weisshaus and Jutta Hager were chosen as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship competition after several ex- aminations. Many of our classmates are going on to higher education and have already been accept- ed at various colleges or schools of nursing. Our thanks to the qualified staff of C. H. S. who made this possible. Here's a parting-and-sad-thought: of the 377 sophomores who entered these portals three years ago, only 230 are left at graduation. We who remain will attempt always to hold our ideals high, in accordance with our school stand- ards.
