CLASSES The sad and happy . . . dull and gay . . . days we have spent to- gether have too quickly come to an end. Baccalaureate, Shelf Day, and Commencement are now the past. We, the first gradu- ating class ofthe new school, are proud of our records and ac- complishments, and we hope we have lived up to the standards of the past. We are all anxious to move into the challenging world facing usp we desire to do as well as those who have pre- ceded us. jim 6,l:6.0lL

THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1957 SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS FOR 1957-President Joe Evanko and historian Cathy Scott check cn the recordings of secretary Betty Smith while vice presi- dent Paul Welch adiusts the graduation gown on treasurer George Wise. Senior Class History On September 6, 1956 we entered, for the first time, the new Clearfield Area Senior High School. Even though some of us didn't like the change at first, we all adiusted rapidly. Our football team, accelerated by many seniors, was possessor of a five-five record. As district 9 basketball champs, we experienced a long battle for the title. Our boys have the jackets to prove it. The All-State basketball team was boosted by George Wise, the school's high scorer. We had a winning season in wrestling with Tom Vokes in our class, obtain- ing a district championship. Gary Teats, from our powerful golf team, was sent into all-state competition. Paul Welch and many other seniors made for CHS a leading name in track. With the aid of many of our classmates, our baseball team rung up more wins than losses to round out the season with a successful record. District Band, Orchestra, and Chorus were well attended by our school com- panions. Carmen Santinoceto aided the trombone section in State Band, and George Belford rounded out the Bass section of State Orchestra. Everyone in Clearfield is still talking about the wonderful performance the District Orchestra gave in our auditorium. 20
