D 1950 1951 N D . I ClearEeld High School, for the first time in its history, has won three dis- trict chamlpionships-football, basketball, and Wrestling. Therefore it seems fit- ting that t is, our 1951 Bison, be dedicated to the outstanding school spirit of, the student body, and to our athletes in particular who made such a feat possible. Good sportsmanship, team work, perserverance, and loyalty were great factors in the capturing of the coveted district trophies. 1 The football team, Winning the first of these championships, closed its sea- son With a better than average record. The squad, by means of hard work and much determination, was able to attain an enviable record. Proving that their ability and team spirit could not be easily matched, the basketball squad climaxed its best season by winning the first district trophy that a Clearfield High court team has ever won. I The wrestling team, after ending its dual meets with an excellent record, went on to capture the last of our 1950-51 trophies. The grapplers also gained the regional championship in addition to their other titles. Good sportsmanship, a requisite to the mat team, played a great part in its success. we Overshadowing, perhaps, the fine recognition 'resulting from these championships, are the many indirect benefits which participation in the various sports has provided for the boys, such as experience, training, and the opportunity of working with others for a common cause. These benefits cannot be evaluated and will live on long after fame has been forgotten. 1 7

Our fine staff of teachers, our classmates and friends, many sig- nificant athletic events, and outstanding activities have made it a memorable one. These happy associations will linger in our minds, and may this edition of the Bison serve as a material re- minder of our school day recollections in the years to COIYIC. 6
