197219721972197219721972197219721972197219721972 Foreword Although our building is old and its facilities are poor, we are proud to say we graduated from Clear Spring High School. The purpose of this yearbook is to present an accurate summary of the activities and life at Clear Spring High School for the months between September 1971, and June 1972. As you are leafing through this yearbook you will see that the students at Clear Spring High School are very busy, both with school work and extra-curricular activities. Even though a small school presents some problems, the students realize the many advan- tages, among which is a friendly atmosphere, where everyone is acquainted with everyone else. No one goes unknown for long. This edition of the TRAILBLAZER will pro- bably be one of the last composed in this build- ing, but we are proud of it and believe it to be one of the best. A SENIOR'S DIARY September was the beginning of fun, hard work, and memories. To keep theser memories, we started work on our Yearbook. Class officers were also elected this year, an honor to those elected; and many students began to col- lect brochures on the college they wished to attend. Club presidents were also elected. For the seniors in the band, honor and pride were the feelings they experi- enced when two first places were received. This was the opening of soccer season for the sports-minded boys. The big event of the month was when every- one discarded tneir school clothes and dressed in hillbilly garb for an evening of knee-slappin’ fun at the Sadie Hawkins dance. Also, October brought the Alsatia Paraae and a lovely senior girl as princess. •November came somewhat solemnly with Thanksgiving, but after that, there was a scarcity of boys as hunting season arrived. The senior class play practices were held with a lot of fun and lots more get-togethers. Little snow and lots of excitement was what was on the agenda for December. We were ready to perform to the public our series of three one-act plays entitl- ed An Evening At the Theatre . This month also brought the apprehension of the basketball season. This was a fine month concerning our players. January brought honor to Clear Spring High School as it held its first Home- coming dance. This event was hela after a victorius basketball game over Hancock, our rivals. February started the ball rolling for the Sweetheart Dance workshops. These workshops were the perfect get-together for gossip of who the lucky seniors were to be inducted into the National Honor Society. This is the most coveted club in the school, and the ceremony was held February 28. We've Only Just Begun , the theme of our Sweetheart Dance, held in March, will always hold a place in our memories, as it was the prettiest one ever to be held. The seniors who participated in the band during their years in high school were very proud to participate in their last big high school parade, the annual Cherry Blossom Parade held in Washington, D.C. A Spring Concert was the perfect follow up for a memorable year in the Blazer Band. Also, April brought many club trips to be enjoyed. May was our last full month of school. We had a lot going for us this month. The Juniors gave their annual Junior-Senior prom which was our last high school formal. June was a mixture of happiness and tears as we prepared ourselves for Bac- calaureate and Graduation. We received our Yearbooks this month along with many signatures. With this our Diary ends, but our memories continue forever. )
