As another school year passes, we pause to catch a glimpse of everything we have done. We sin- cerely hope that this book will help in your reminiscing. The candles in this book represent the light of learning. This precious flame of understanding is lit by the faculty and passed on to each student. It should be a gift that each of us cherish and use forever. Many of us will end our formal education with the closing of this year, our flame will darken. But for others just entering CHS the flame has just begun to burn. 3 DEDICATION It is with a great deal of profound respect and appreciation that we dedicate the 1962 issue of the Trailblazer to MRS. BEVERLY STARLIPER STENGER A graduate of Clear Spring High School (1956), Mrs. Stenger came to us after a year of training and schooling and has been with us ever since. Her loyalty, her devotion, unselfishness and untiring ef- forts help to make this school a better place in which to live and to gain an education. Both the faculty and the student body of Clear Spring High School wish her a full and happy life. There is only one Bev. 4 One of the delights in a school teacher’s life is the memories of the students he has had in school. As we grow old and look at the Trailblazer, it will remind us of our happy life in Clear Spring High School. Each year vast amounts of work are put forth by your Trailblazer Staff and faculty in making this book. It is hoped this book will keep alive the year 1961-62. With the passing years we will be thankful to this staff for giving us this book, which we can appreciate as an important part of our life. JANICE L. ALEXANDER English, French I and II Western Md. The office helpers assist the administration and the student body. Last minute notetaking for reports is the rule, not the exception. Love those cooks! Test pattern signals start of another lesson by television, so typical of CHS. All phases of woodwork are taught in the shop classes taught by Mr. Morris Lay. The two people who know who should have won the last ball game. After a while you begin to hate snow. “A BOLD FRONT” The operetta, A BOLD FRONT, was presented by the Varsity Choir on March 23, 1961. The proceeds were used to buy music for the Choir. The light comedy in- volved the receptionist at a fashionable re- sort hotel and the zany world of people va- cationed there.
