The auditorium has served as the largest classroom in the school for the past three years. It serves the massed classes of seventh and eighth grade students. Other classes are held in the auditorium also. However, most television instruction is received in individual classrooms. Subjects taught by television in Clear Spring High School this year are Math, Sci- ence, and Core ( 7 and 8); French (7); Algebra I (8); Biology (9); Chemistry and U. S. History (11); English and Advanced Math (12); and Practical Arts. The above picture is a seventh grade science class under the guidance of Mr. Wil- liam C. Grimm. 61 • . CHEERLEADERS SUBMIT WHO’S FEUDIN’ NOW?” Who’s Feudin' Now? was a one-act comedy about a high society matron in search for her family tree. Dur- ing this search she finds herself in the run-down shack of Ozark hillbillies. Here she finds that she might be related to a family down the hill, who were killed off by her host in a feud. The idea of a new target pleases the man of the house Paw Capfield. His wife talks him out of it, explaining that they couldn’t be sure the lady was a relative of the other mountaineer family. Then Paw remembers that the other family kept a BIBLE in which all the family names were recorded. The BIBLE is produced, and Paw loses his target. Gramma, you bought a sports car? THE SKY’S THE LIMIT PRESENTED THE SKY'S THE LIMIT was presented by the senior class on December 2 and 3, 1960. It was a three-act mystery comedy by Margery Bums. The Skys are a family with big ideas, but these ideas create problems. Dan Sky is expect- ing Mr. Green, his boss, to give him a promotion. Ellen Sky wants to help her social club with the chicken dinner. Gramma is buying a little foreign car. Bill Sky wants an old jalopy. Con- nie is looking toward a wedding. Sunny Sky, the heroine, wants to be a cheerleader. The problems occur when Sunny mixes up the telephone messages while she and Ace Daw- son, her boyfriend, are practicing some cheers. As a result Sunny practices too much in the confusion. Until Sunny, the only voiceless cheerleader ever heard of, can straighten things out, Gram- ma thinks she’s had a proposal, Dan thinks he's fired; Ellen thinks she's in charge of the entire chicken dinner, an exasperating thought; and Connie believes Bob, her fiance, has walked out on her I have to sell these, so I can get money for my car. I960 IS YEAR FOR GIRLS WILL BE GIRLS. You really missed something if you didn't see it. At a smart seaside resort hotel, Bess Brandon is the hairdresser and manicurist and her girlfriend, Gracie Greene, is the cashier. The social mentor not only of the hotel but of the resort is the wealthy and austere, Mrs. Stewart Wentworth, whose only son, Kenneth, visits his mother from time to time. Kenneth and Bess meet and fall desparately in love. The indignation of the haughty Mrs. Went- worth knows no bounds when she hears that her son has fallen for a working person, for Mrs. Went- worth has made plans to have Kenneth wed June De- light, a wealthy, baby-faced debutante who is spend- ing the summer with her prospective mother-in-law. Mrs. Wentworth threatens to cut her son without a cent if he continues to see Bess and she warns Bess not to see Kenneth. The independent Bess and her friend, Gracie, laugh at the imperious matron, which enrages Mrs. Wentworth to such an extent that she has the two girls discharged. Miss Belle Seymour runs the Seymour Dress Shop in the hotel building and as she is about to be mar- ried, she seeks to sell her establishment. Bess and Gracie have a little money saved and as Belle likes both girls, she takes this money as down payment and sells them the shop on easy terms. It is a flourish- ing business and Bess and Gracie see no obstacles ahead. But they have reckoned without the vindictive Mrs. Wentworth who practically boycotts the place by spreading malicious rumors about the two girls. Their shop is deserted. To add to their troubles, they buy at a great bargain, bolts of silk and lace and exquisite lingerie from a supposed traveling saleswoman who turns out to be notorious kleptomaniac known as Light-Fingered Lil. Bess and Gracie are arrested for receiving and selling stolen goods. But their innocence is eventually established and they triumph over Mrs. Wentworth for Kenneth has taken Bess' advice and gone to work so as not to be dependent on his mother's bounty. At the finish, it is a forgone conclusion that Bess and Kenny will marry. z mm Actually, the whole chorus helped. A fashion show. YOUR YEARBOOK PUBLISHED Linda Eavey.........................Editor-in-Chief Mr. Grimm------------------------------ - - Advisor Joan Rosenberry - --------------- Business Manager Having reached this point in the Yearbook of CHS, one should already know why the TRAILBLAZER is published. The main point is how? After grueling hours of searching for the right words, pictures, pages, and space, the TRAILBLAZER comes to those who ordered a subscription. The price a subscriber pays is so little compared to the joy he will receive in the years to come. No matter how the yearbook is put together it will one day be scarce, in- valuable material.
