Future Actors Produce Plays Speech and drama students first learned how to act from a written script to improvisational acting. Then later they learned how to give per- suasive speeches, how to pantomime and after- wards had a radio and T.V. unit where they made their own presentation. Speech students and non-speech students also went to speech tournaments. They competed for a prize trophy or trophies. Mrs. Keeler was the teacher who coached these students who where interested in the performing arts. Between the Speech I and Speech ll classes, speech students produced 12 plays. Pupils Converse in Spanish Class Spanish was one of the two languages taught here. Students learned the language by the audio-visual method. Ms. Caroline Perez was the Spanish teacher and she taught six classes. At the end of each learning unit some of the students were required to do a summary. They sometimes learned Spanish songs too. At the end of the year they had a fiesta where students were asked to bring Spanish foods. During this event they broke a pinata. Above: The group picture of Spanish students. Homemakers Show Gff Their Stuff Homemaking students learned about relationships, cooking, groom- ing, child development and sewing. They also studied interior design, col- or schemes and fashion trends. They surprised the faculty with pumpkin bread loaves on Halloween and hosted the Holiday Tea Party for parents, teachers and themselves.
