Staci Smith hits the ball as Kristy Taylor prepares to volley. Racquets Slam, Swing Tennis players had the skill and technique behind them to take them to the top. The girls won district with a first place and a final team standing of 7-O. The boys team fell short by one match, causing them to finish in second place. According to the ten- nis coaches, the top players were Monica Nor- ris, Lee Bishop, Alan Beaujon and Steve Lacy. Both teams participated in tournaments hosted by Friendswood and League City. 49
