5 1 1 hannon Touchstone keeping the pace. Bo s Keep The eighth and seventh grade boys track team had a very ac- tive year. All the members work- ed hard in their particular events. The team went to five meets: North Forest Relay, Dickinson Relay, Pasadena Relay, Clear Lake Invitational and the district meet. They did not place first at any meet, but they did place in the top third in every event they entered. The coaches selected the members to go to each meet by Greg Hernandez clears his height. Marty Carney keeps the lead. rf-ng. ii 1 the Pace first having them work out for a couple of weeks. The coaches then devised a plan as to where each athlete would succeed the most. The athletes then worked out in that event until tryouts were held to see who would go to the meet. Clear Lake's highlight of the year in track was when they came from behind to place se- cond in the district meet out of seven other schools.

Jeannine Jowid hands off to An outstanding track season was accomplished when the eighth grade girls won the district title at the Clear Lake High School track meet. In ad- dition to this, they won first place at Webster and second place at both Dickinson and Deer Park. The seventh grade victorious as the eighth grade. But they won fifth place in Dickinson, Deer Park, and Webster. They received seventh place in district and they are hop- ing for a better season next year. To celebrate their vic- tories, the entire girls track team went to didn't manage to be as Astroworld.
