Students Turn Into Dancing Valentines The lights were dimmed as the seventh and eighth graders stepped out on the gymnasium floor for the Valentines Day Dance. Students danced as they listened to songs by the Go- Go's, Sammy Hagar, Michael Jackson, and many others. Carnations were also on sale on Valentines Day. These were on sale by Mrs. Gerry Brown's reading classes. The profits were used to buy a printer and a monitor for the computer. The seventh and eighth graders that chose not to go to the dance went to the teaching theater to watch the movie, Star Warsf, Above: Alex Sarabia dances with Kim Walters. Bot' tom right: Mrs. Rosalind Ferrero dances with Tim Sullivan. Christy Van Horn burns up the dance floor

The free concert that was given by Freedom Jam was sponsored by the stu- dent council. The group played numerous rock tunes and presented a skit on American history during the per- formance. The group also gave a night performance in which many students attended.

Sixth graders participate in a dance of their own in a hallway. Sixth Grade Plays Paper Football While the seventh and eighth graders were at the dance, the sixth graders made paper footballs to have a paper foot- ball contest. Many sixth graders didn't participate in the paper football contest. Instead, they went to see The Muppet Movie. As the dance progresses, many students Paper football kicks off as the referee Mr Pau Shepich checks footballs loose their shyness and step out on the crowded gym floor. 19
