Fashions and Music Gain Attention The year has introduced many different fashions and music trends. Fashions for girls ran along the lines of mini-skirts, leg warmers, Nikes, prairie skirts, tuxedo blouses, some Vans, and Fruit Boots. The guys wore spike haircuts and Vans. The Preppy look was also popular with guys wearing Polo or Izod shirts. Practically everyone liked to wear Ops and Town and Country surf designs. In music trends, the three most popular radio stations were 101 KLOL, 97 ROCK, and 93-79Q. Top: Mark Mayfield displays the surfer look with Vans and his Town and Country shirt. Bottom: Van Haler, ACXDC, Rush, Journey are just some of the groups that would be in a teen's album collection. 1 3 5 91
