Homemaking Students Learn Design, Sewing, Personal Care, Modeling And W Cooking Homemaking students began their year by studying and practic- ing how to become more beautiful in their physical appearance, as well as improving their personal and family relationships. Students illustrate their groom- ing techniques, as well as their cooking and cleaning skills. They prepared gourmet holiday goodies which were served at their annual open house lt's a Holiday Home- making Happening. Over 300 fam- ily members of homemaking stu- dents and CLI faculty and staff en- joyed sampling their culinary cre- ations. Homemaking students dis- play their Interior Design Projects. Students sewed garments to model for their Spring Style Show present- ed for the P.T.A. Homemaking end- ed the year with a study of Child Development and setup a Day Care Center for pre-schoolers. Student Council Leads Lake Student Council representatives are jamie Atwell, Karla Baccus, Richard Baker, David Carl, Drew Carlton, Michelle Carter, Shawn Castro, Vicki Fisher, Maury Fogle, Annette Foster, Peree Fullen, Steve Garris, and Phillip C.2ynn. Other representatives are Adam Hinsdale, Bohnnie Inlow, Susan Lem, Mark Levine, Shari Liebman, Gina Light, lim Lord, Marc Mazade, Debbie Ousley, Fay Russell, Randy Scharringhausen, Amy Spiers, lay Tanet, Amanda Tutt, john Tyler, jim Walker, Robert Wier and Todd Williams. The sponsors are Mr. Hebert and Mrs. Chumley. The Student Council con- sists of 31 members. They sponsored a Valentines Day dance and party. Mr. Hebert and Mrs. Chumley are in charge of the Council. The Council meets in room 106 or the Teaching Theater. There they discuss events or happenings. They are re- sponsible for a lot of great things at our school. Student Council Officers are President Mike Hickey, Vice President Heidi Chumley, Secretary Catherine Berry, Historian Ella Kate Dowling, and Treasurer jenni- fer Goodwin.

Mrs. ChumIey's art students, all 166 of them, emphasize origi- nality and creativity. Much of their work is entered in several exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibits include the Yule Feast, the Houston Live- stock Show, the PTA Reflections Project and the Scholastic Art Awards. The arts and crafts classes par- ticipated in several activities in- cluding a Michaelangelo project and a mask making week. The 144 member group is taught by Mrs. Farrell and can be found where ever unusual crafts are in the making. Mr. Calelly's 290 Art students learn the fundamentals of art and have the opportunity to enter all the 7th and 8th grade contest except for the Scholastic Art Awards. X gf 1 .-5 ' 1 an -.--J ll
