Under the efficient instruction of Mrs. Jones, the girls of C.L.U.H. are very effectively instructed in the various phases of homemaking. There are seven phases taught in this school and they include the study of foods, clothing, health, housing, children, relationships, and manage- ment. These different phases are so divided that they require three years of study to cover them. To further the efficiency of the homemaking department some new appliances have recently been added. They are as follows: two electric stoves, on automatic washer, a dryer, and two sewing machines. These appliances make it easier to finish the required work in each class. The department has three unit kitchens. Each kitchen is so arranged that groups of four to six girls can work in each kitchen. Through movies, filmstrips, demonstrations and lectures by outside speakers the homemaking course is made broader and more interesting. Standing left to right C. Brown, D. Edwards, Y. Marston, B.
