The Future Homanakers of America is the National Organization of pupils studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools of the United States Puerto Rico and Hawaii. The National fotmdation began in J une 11 1945 and is an incorporated non-profit youth organization- the Clear Lake Chapter being founded eight years later in 1953. There are many important purposes of F .H A such as: to promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satisfactions of homemaking' to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership- to encourage democracy in home and community life- to work for good home and family life for all' to promote intemational good will- to foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life- to pro- mote wholesome individual and group recreation and to further interest in home economics.
