PEP CLUB Our Pep Club was organized in 1950 to keep the team and spectators in high spirits throughout the games. The group, consisting of 90 members and the cheerleaders, attended all the basketball and football games. During the basketball season the girls wore long-sleeved, V-neck, gold sweaters and black skirts. With their gold and black pom-poms, they added a great deal to the spirit of the team. The Pep Club has, without doubt, grown in spirit since it was organized, and has proven to always be a swell bunch of girls. Miss Walters is the sponsor of Pep Club. The -ofiicers are: Dixie Darrow, President: Greta Anderson, Vice President: Mary Io Christensen, Secretary: Miriam Strum, Treasurer. 39

YOUTH ON BEAM Youth On the Beam is one of hundreds ot Bible Clubs in high schools across America. The twenty-two members meet together in the music room of the high school once each week for Bible 'studies and discussions. A number of guest speakers have brought challenges to the club during the year. In the interest of the community, this group sponsored the public showing of the Billy Graham film, Oil-town, U. S. A. , and also carried out the project of getting Christmas tracts into the hands of Clear Lake Christmas shoppers. The officers this year were: President, Geraldine Brower: Vice President, Norman Froiland: Secretary-Treasurer, Marlys Gobelip and the sponsor was Mrs. Frank Moninger.

SCIENCE CLUB Science Club was formed in 1952 to broaden the .scientific interest of students. Its purpose is to further the interest of students already interested in science, to attract students to the scientific field, to increase the members' lmowledge of science, and to give a general knowledge ot most types of science. The requirement for Science Club is two semesters of science with a B average. The activities of Science Club this year have included photography, plas- tics, and television. A number of guest speakers have given talks on these and other subjects. Two field trips were taken to the Great Lakes Pipe Line and to the medical laboratory at the Mason City Mercy Hospital. The Science Club is a member of the Iunior Academy of Science of Iowa and the Science Clubs of America. The officers this year were Lowell Bryan, President: Ianet Iorgenrud, Vice President: Margaret Monaghen, Secretary: Allen Iohannessen, Treasurer.
