Youth on the Beam, a high school Bible Club, is made up of Christian fellows and girls who are, in the vernacular of our day, on the beam for Christ. Y. O. B. was organized in 1952. The purpose of this organization is to give Christian young people an opportunity to have fellowship with other Christians. This, however, is not the sole purpose of Y. O. B.: for these young people also desire to Win others to Christ. The officers for the first semester were as follows: President, Mary Rorvig: Vice President, Connie Golien: Secretary-Treasurer, Shirley Highsmithp Publi- city Chairman, Geraldine Brower. Second semester officers were: President, Ethel Templeton: Vice President, Marlys Gobeli: Secretary-Treasurer, Gerald- ine Brower: Publicity Chairman, Iackie Bowers. The sponsor for this group is Mrs. Frank Moniger. 48

Bud Engen, this year includes 150 singing members . The group most active is the choir of 75 voices which makes approximately 25,appearances during the school year. KGLO Radio, Mason City, has presented ,two one-half hour programs of this choir and plans are underway for a TV'f appearance next y-ear. As a means of raising expense money the choir sponsored a successful Community Birth- day Calendar project for a trip to the St. Olaf College Music Festival, Northfield, Minnesota, in May.
