F. F. A. Bob Kel logg Ilm Iackson, Ion Matson, Keith Zirbel, Mr. Rich. F. F. A. is an organization of farm boys taking vocational agriculture. Membership is entirely voluntary. It is considered an intra-extra-curricular activity. The purposes of F. F. A. are to develop leadership: to create more in- terest in farming: to encourage improvement of home, farm and surroundings: to take part in co-operative activities: and to promote improvement in scho- larship. During the past year, the F. F. A. had a softball team in the City League and a basketball team which played surrounding F. F. A. chapters. Some members had entries in the North Iowa Fair. They have also bought and in- stalled a pencil dispenser for a money-making activity. For a communtiy project, they have built a trailer scale for people to use for weighing their livestock at home. One of the requirements for membership is that each member has his own farming program and improvement project. C CLUB The C Club was founded in 1926 and is one of the oldest organizations of this school. Any boy who earns a letter in one of the tive sports - basketball, base- ball, football, track of golf is eligible to become a member. Managers are also eligible. One of the highlights of the year was the initiation of new members which was a good test of sportsmanship. The officers this year were: President, Iohn Ashland: Vice President, Grant Wright, and Secretary Treasurer, Gary Pattschull. The coaches, Dyle Martin, Del Mully and Charles Edwards, were sponsors. The Future Homemakers of A1-Xmerica is the national organization of pupils studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools of the United States, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. lt was founded Iune ll, 1945 and is an incorporated non-profit youth organization. The purposes of F. H. A. up are: To promote a growing appreciation of the joys and satis- factions of homemaking: toemphasize the importance of worthy home membership: to en- courage Democracy in home and ,community life: to work for good home and family life for all: to, promote international ,good will: to foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life: to provide wholesome individual and group recreation: and to further interest in home economics. The Clear Lake Chapter was founded in 1953.
