Row 3-Barbara Rice, Dorothy Wedeking, Bumps Wright, Mr Edwards, Roger Treu, Margaret Newman, Io Speakar. The Golden Masque Chapter of Clear Lake is a chapter of the National Masque and Gavel. The organization endeavors to increase each individual's knowledge and interest in the field of dramatics. The members and the sponsor, Mr. Edwards, work together cast- ing and presenting plays and other activities of the club. Requirements tor possible mem- bership include working on stage or backstage. Points are earned for serving on these various crews. Students who carry out these requirements, and desire to become members of the Masque and Gavel, are then voted upon by the members. During the year the activities of the culb covered the all school play, You Can't Take It With You , the one-act play for contest, How To Propose . Many students and mem- bers participated in contest work this year. Kay Gordon was president of the club, Rollin Treu was secretary, and Allen Erickson was treasurer. Mr. Ion Edwards, speech director and dramatic instructor, was the sponsor.

LIBRARY CLUB The Library Club was organized in 1945 for the purpose of encouraging a desire and an appreciation for good reading among our students. The student librarians are girls who have shown an interest in library work. The duties of the members are to charge books, mend books, check books, check in current magazines, prepare new books for circulation, keep the library in good order and promote better school spirit. The officers this year are Phyllis Thrams, president: Terry Hennis, vice-president: and Shirley Highsmith, secretary-treasurer. Our sponsor is Miss Ruth Sponheim. PEP CLUB Pep Club was organized in 1950 for the purpose of promoting better school spirit and more sportsmanship throughout the high school. Members of Pep Club are required to attend all meetings and games. To distinguish the members from the school body, the girls have chosen a uniform, white lolouses, black skirts and gold sweaters.
