Three of the Junior boys, Rodney, Laverne, and Neal played on the basketball team. Our winning float in the homecoming parade must have served as an inspiration to them for they helped the team fight its way to victory in the Shell Lake and Spooner tournaments. How- ever, they lost to Ashland in the last game at Spooner, just one game away from the state tournament. This, our final year at Clayton High, has proved to be just as excit- ing, if not more exciting ang In hope, profits le, than the first three. Our basketball season has been successful, though not as spectacular as last yeari. We won the trophy at the Cameron Tournament. In October we had our graduation pictures taken and ordered our class rings, The boys rings are solid metal and the girls have a ruby setting with the 'C' on top. In February we had a band carnival. The senior candidate, Lois Stumo, was chosen queen, The spring months have largely been spent hard at work on the annual which is being changed in color and arrangement from that of 1946. The cover will be red instead of blue. On the evening of Hay I6, we will present our class play, 'Down and I ups On lay 29th, 1947 we will leave Clayton High for wider horizons. No matter what the future may hold, we will always have memories of Clayton High School locked in our hearts. I L, ,. - ,--:L - , .
