It was our good fortune to have had bestowed upon us a leader and a hard worker. Without her continued support and guidance, it would not have been possible tor our class to be a success. She has guided us in striving to meet the tasks that have confronted us as a class. With sincere best wishes and gratitude, we dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Frances Horner. We hope that she will never forget the Class of 1958, as she will always be present in our memories. ,- - - - ,fl dminisfracidu lf Zzculfqd Admzuzsfrafion and Zzculfy ini fm! 2714 A LIBERAL EDUCATION . . . . . . is the education which gives a man a clear, conscious view of his own opinions and judgements, a Truth in developing them, an eloquence in expressing Them, and a force in urging Them . . . Hey, buddie! rolI! lllJudyllI Glass ffisfrfry ln September, 1954, the Class of 1958 began the quest for education in Clayton High School. The iourney was crowded with many new adventures, and the Twirp Twirl and the Welcome Home Senior Dance, the activities we sponsored, were huge successes. Our class float captured first prize in the Halloween parade. We also received our banner our freshman year and hung it in its place of honor in the auditorium. The following year we began our festivities by again winning first prize for our class float. Santa's Frolic and the Raindrop Hop were our featured dances. As we entered our third year, our iourney was nearly culminated. In early October we ioyously and excitedly received our class rings. Once again our float was honored with the top award. Our Harvest Hop was a grand Thanksgiving affair. Moving-up Day portrayed us as the stars of our own TV show. Spring saw us traveling to Gettysburg for our junior class trip. Finally, the grand climax to our activities appeared-the Junior-Senior Prom. Now our iourney is terminated. Entering the school as mighty seniors, we sponsored the Kick-Off Dance to begin our reign. Our class established a record by capturing first prize again for the class float. However, many other memorable events took place before our journey came to an end-Washington trip, Baccalau- reate service, and graduation. We leave our Alma Mater with many cherished memories and rich with the education we have obtained. Consequently, the senior class now begins a quest for more knowledge as each member iourneys into a new world. Thus, to Clayton High School, our Alma Mater, we bid our last good-bye.
