Senror Class Hrstory The hrstory of the Clayton Hrgh School class of 1938 presents a prcture of colorful and talented personalrtres combrned to make an rnterestrng result lncludrng the rndr v1dual characters rn a cooperatrng whole has resulted rn a four year career of worthy prop ects Each member of the class has lrved hrs lrfe rn a four year mrnrature After une 9 the class of 38 wrll lrve only rn prctures and memorres Thrs small anthology cannot hope to preserve rn prrnt all those line recollec trons but rn rts small way stands as an eprtaph rn thrs monument to those students who passed from the lrfe of Clayton Hrgh School rn 1938 rnto the world beyond Enterrng hrgh school rn the fall of 1934 under the sponsorshrp of Mr Davrs the class elected Lester Ackerman to rts head as Presr dent wrth oan Ball Vrce President Adrrenne Eskeles Secretary and anrce Harlan Treasurer for that year ln therr frrst year wrthrn these walls the class of 38 was partrcularly outstandrng for rts number of smart people for rn that year the freshman occupled more than forty per cent of the posrtrons rn the Top Ten These members were Marjorre Stormont Elarne Block Adrrenne Eskeles Ruth Nussbaum Ruth Hoyer oan Ball Emrly Cronherm Donald Abrams Robert Bassett eanette Levrn and Stanley Baskowrtz Socrally as freshmen the class was equally outstandrng when rn February of therr first year they sponsored a qulte successful Krd Party Balloons and baby costumes were qurte the order of the day wrth Margre Hrggrns and Don Abrams trrumphrng as the cutest brats to wrn and qurte approprrately lollypops ln the lrne of actrvrtres members of the 38 troop were not wrthout representatrves Ray Frnk and Bob Stern were charter members of the Radro Club when rt frrst rnstalled a transmrttrng unrt four years ago eannette Levm rn the musrcal department earned a favorable rat mg as a pranrst rn the County Musrc Festrval ln dramatrcs Rrchardson Usher was the out standmg freshman of the year wrth hrs por trayal of a French gentleman 1n a one act play presented before the school Wallace MacLean and Lester Ackerman were stellar athletes of the frosh Returnrng rn the fall, the class of '38 elected the followrng offrcers Wallace Mac Lean Presrdent.
