Here one works with equations to find the un- known. Arithmetic is the most useful branch of mathe- matics. The freshmen find that practice on the board is helpful.

The seniors acquire experience in operat- ing the electric type- writer as demonstrated by Miss Huether. Pur- chased for the school this year, it introduced L1 new means of typing -- by electric impulse . The spirit and stencil duplicator are two machines the office practice class has learned to operate. Hcre Charles demonstrates how the paper is fed into the machine. MAMA Speed writings and business letters are but two of the many things the juniors do in Typing I. They try to produce acceptable copies as well as match their speed with fellow classmates.

There is no better way for the young person to learn how to be an effective citizen than by participation in local government. Government gives the student specific in- formation about his community, country and state. Mr. Swanson gives the seniors the knowledge and self-confidence to lay the foundations of good citizenship.
