43559 3 ,I Beg. Linksters Capture Senate The golf team ended a lot higher than was expect- ed, stated first year Mentor Rick Cox. With only two returning Iettermen, the young Mustangs turned in an overall record of ll-3, and a fine first place standing in the Senate League. Honors were awarded to seniors Jay Milligan and Randy Butler, who were voted to the Senate League all-star selections. John Kastor sported the best home average at Big Bend with 4.8 over par and Dave Johnson had the best away average with 5 over par. The most successful match of the l98O-8l season was the upset over Senate League for Northwest. The linksters defeated Northwest with the best away score of the season, perhaps the turning point for the linksters. An exciting overtime match with talented Tuslaw saw senior Rob Cromley save his teammates as he birdied the first sudden death hole. The team had averaged scores very close to each other as all of the starters contributed a lou out- standing score at one time or another to help the team. Jay Milligan was medalist in Senate League Tourney, John Kastor was medalist in Burger King Tourney, Tim Mills shot low against Sandy Valley, and Dave Johnson was low scorer at the Tuslaw overtime. I. Front. K. Roth, M. Henry, T. Granato, D. McMath. Back: R. Butler, J. Milligan, R. John- son, R. Cromley, T. Mills, K. Edwards, J. Kastor, D. Johnson. 2. Captain R. Butler.
