This was the first season for head coach Ed Henry, who did a fine job with the Mustangs for his rookie season. The Mustangs had a shaky start with a close I3- IO loss to Sandy Valley. In the second game of the season with Coshocton, CHS led most of the game. But late in the final quarter, Coshocton rallied to go ahead I5-I4. Then the mighty Mus- tangs took the kickoff and drove down the field. A Matt O'Hara field goal capped the down field drive, giving the Mustangs a I7-I5 victory. 68 Q. ' . The Lake Blue Streaks gave the Mustangs a tussle, but the Mustangs prevailed I6-IO. East Canton, not supposed to ve a really good team surprised the Mustangs. Late in the game. East Canton rallied and was only down by 2, I4-ll Then the Mustangs drove down the field, putting the icing on the cake to win ll-I2. CHS headed to Minerva and brought home a I4-9 squeaker. The final home game saw CHS take an ear- ly lead over Carrollton. which they never relin- quished.
