l98O-8l. The year that was, the year of hap- penings. President Ronald Reagan was shot. The American hostages were released from lran. Beatle- great John Lennon was murdered. The Pope was shot. National news did have some big stories, but local news also had its share. The Claymont Lady Mus- tangs basketball team won its first state championship. The Marching Hundred returned from Zanesville with a Grand Championship. The school presented another success- ful musical. The student body and staff pulled together to give two children a Christmas worth re- membering. This is just a sample of the achieve- ments reached at CHS this year. Not all the news was good.
