frm- m John Lamb, Assistant Editor; Jtanie Martin, Editor Editor ' s Message You are a typical teenager making fun out of work — sharing interests you like to be casual but can change when it fits the occasion. Yes, you are a typical teenager go steady — about five months dress up — heels for her — tie for him you know how to drive — have your own car. You are a typical high school student you go all out for sports — especially basketball high school days are your delights — but don ' t compare with high school nights. Your daily schedule is a familiar pattern of high school life get up at 6:30 — maybe 7:00 — some- times oversleep — go at break-neck speed to class — you snack — drink cokes — watch television — listen to the radio while doing homework — munch candy bars and hamburgers you enjoy school but hate to admit it — study some — three hours a night — no a week — average A — well maybe C — anyway you make the grade — but you ' re satisfied because you are a teenager. With these thoughts in mind we have attempted to capture some of the events and memories of school, hoping that you may look back over the faded snapshots and remember the good old days at C.H.S. In later years while turning these pages, if you should recall the many smiles, sorrows, and dreams of ' 62, we shall be content, knowing that we have fulfilled our desires. I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff who has helped make this yearbook a success. I especially want to extend my thanks to Miss Evangeline Thomas for her interest and guidance. Sincerely, IJZCLkju %6A « Editor

Dedication Mr. Bowles: It is impossible to estimate what your example has meant to the innumerable students at Clay whom you have served so faithfully. Without your untiring efforts the successful athletic sea- son and the Four-Way Tourney victory could never have been possible. Because of your un- selfish dedication and enthusiasm as a teacher and coach, it is with sincere gratitude that we express our appreciation. Mr. Wagner: We took our troubles to you at every turn along the paths of learning; and without your understanding, we would have been lost. You rejoiced with us when we were triumphant, and you gave us courage when we were disap- pointed. The plays were produced under the direction of your skilled hands, and in . the classroom your dedication to the field of edu- cation was fully demonstrated. We cannot thank you enough, but your friendship will live for- ever in our hearts. With deep affection and admiration we, the Senior Class of 1962, dedicate this Geronimo to Mr. Ray Wagner and Mr. Ben Bowles.
