Tales of The Argonauts . . . CLASS HISTORY It was on a beautiful fall morning in September 1945 when we the students of the senior class entered Clay County High School as freshmen. There were one hundred thirty-five of us, all eager to know our fellow students. a When we were well acquainted with our fellow classmen, it was time to elect officers. They were as follows, president, Junior Underwood: vice president, Curtis Leggg secre- tary, Rondell Love: treasurer, Hubert Hively. Our sponsors were, Mrs. Boggess, Mrs. Dah- nert, Mr. Klng and Mrs. Harris. Next year we turned a little more mellow in color, not so green now, and elected these officers: president, Curtis Legg: vice president, Buren Jonesg secretary, Dawn Eakleg treasurer, Gwendolyn Douglas. Before we realized it we were juniors. Most of our class had taken part in programs, joined clubs and various organizations. We elected the following officers: president Larry lgog vice president, Dawn Eakle: secretary, Jo Ann Summers: treasurer, Noel Miller, With the generous help of our sponsors, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Boggess, Mrs. Dahnert, Mr. Dahnert, and Mr. King, we sold different articles and sponsored various programs and events. We did this in order to provide the seniors a wonderful Gay Ninetles , reception, complete with a four piece orchestra. Are we Seniors? Yes, we are. We have withstood the hardships that we have had to face. After long decision, we elected president, Jack Sizemore: vice president, Loyd King, secretary, Gwendolyn Douglas: treasurer, Betty Osborne. We honor our class sponsors, Mrs. Boggess, Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Eakle, Mr. Lykins, Mr. King, and our principal, Mr. Black. They have spent long hours to help benefit our class and to make it one of the best ever to be graduated from this high school, In the future ahead of us we can look back and proudly say, Yes, I was a forty nlner, a graduate from Clay County High School. Those were the best years of my life.
