These images are memories and they mark every thing, place and person important in our lives. Look back on all images, no matter how small and unimportant they may have seemed at the time, they were and still are an important part of our lives. Every simple, crazy, intelligent, meaningful thing we ' ve ever done has already become a memory. Yesterday is a memory, today is the first day of the rest of our lives. Jl -- Strive for peace and serenity and hold the good memories uppermost in your mind. Memories are our link with the past, to have and to hold, to remember the good and also the bad, to hope for the strength to continue, and to realize the future is up to us. . - i _v 1 ■■h? vi .i ii?iG M}i ri:iwf i iiiMi -! - ii3 Talent helps 10 [;? :1 ' ' ' ' f n: 1 1 L J Y V T It I 00 pave the way n in The annual AFS Talent Show- helped to finance the cost of students coming from various foreign countries. Under the direction of Mark Meyer and Vickie Mauel many hard- working and imaginative juniors transformed the Concourse Room of the A.C.C. into a park scene. The decorations consisted of wall murals, white cast iron furniture, flowers, and a fountain. The prom servers were selected from the sophomore class. Those who attended the prom danced to the music of the Jack Norris Combo. Imagination created a successful 1974 prom. I 18 = «g opposite page; top: Tim Foley and Linda Grunawalt receive crowns. An after prom followed at the Niles YMCA. Those attending swam and played basketball and ping-pong. A piano was provided for those who could play. The prom was officially over when the clock struck three. However, this wasn ' t the end. Tower Hill provided sunshine and relaxation for an enjoyable after the after prom. And if you needed compassion and understanding, She gave it to you. It ' s hard to believe That a person could give so much of herself With no limitations of any kind. And any person who has ever known Her cannot remain untouched. Yes, Miss Korte has many people Who love her. People who will be eternally Grateful for the love and warmth She shared with us. And knowledge of life that No other could have taught Or could have been taught to us From a book or essay. We all feel a deep loss, A personal loss. With the death of Miss Korte. But keep in mind. We are the fortunate ones. Fortunate for Miss Korte shared a Part of herself with us. Unfortunate are those Whose path in life never crossed With Miss Korte ' s. Let us not dwell on our loss. They played for the Christmas Concert and other functions during the year. Competition in the district and state contests provided the students a chance to show their skills. This helped to unite the school with local businesses. Highlights for the clubs included Employer-Employee banquets. Mr. George Friedman sponsored VICA. This year ' s book condensed the events and happenings of 1975 into candids and surprise shots of Clay ' s Student Body. Staff members combined hard work with many wee mornin}( hours to just meet deadlines. A seminar at Notre Dame in the fall enabled new members to get an overall view of what putting a yearbook together is all about (if they had only known what they had got themselves into). left: The 1975 Minuteman Staff below: The 1975 Colonial Staff The COLONIAL, Clay ' s bi-weekly newspaper, brought news and events to the Student Body. The result of all our efforts. It has been a fascinating, crazy, interesting experience for me. We started off with a new staff, a hospitalized advisor - CONFUSION! We turned into a close-knit, hard-working group. I hope this book conveys a special feeling to everyone, a remembrance of the year. This is the last year in this Clay High School. People and times will change, but this will provide a chance to look back on how things were. A very special thanks goes to all the members of the staff for all their help and hard work. I would also like to thank Mrs. Walters for her encouragement and advice, Mr. George Basker for his help with photography and last minute developing, Jim Haager for his artwork and Joe Walsh for the use of his darkroom and equipment. Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Radecki for patience, understanding, and encouragement.
