Mr. Paul T. Dick Principal ' 1 ...I The 1984-85 school year has been one of many challenges and accomplishments. We have completed the ten year reevaluation for the Southern Association and for the Accreditation by the State of Alabama. We par- ticipated in the State play-offs in football and won numerous awards in three different band contests. We rais- ed over twelve hundred dollars for the American Heart Association and we have implemented many phases of the Plan for Excellence. However, perhaps the most important of all ac- complishments are the individual ones made in our classrooms. Students have spent more time and worked harder in their academic endeavors than ever before. Students today have much more to learn than those of past years and most are eager to take advantage of today's opportunities. To you, the Class of 85, I thank you for your leader- ship and school spirit. You have shown pride in yourself and in Clay County High School. ln future years, you will find this pictorial story of your senior year more and more valuable. If a team plays up to the potential of each individual player, a coach has to feel that the team did as well as they could with the amount of ability that each had. Many players this year played for the first time. Some played with only one year experience. Some players were not starters in Jr. High but through their perseverance earned a position through hard work. We were glad to go to the playoffs. Hopefully this will inspire new players to come out and cultivate a new in- terest for those already playing. Kind words are short to speak, but their echos are endless.
