why we must keep right on plugging away at our history and bookkeeping. That's our job in the war, to train our minds, our hands, our very souls so well that we will be able to step into the shoes of those who have died for our freedom, and continue to fight on, in peace or war, for those ideals of freedom and personal happiness for which the very name America has always stood. On occasion, we think im- patiently that no one should expect us to keep our minds on such things as math and English in a time like this.
